Niseko Winter 25/26 Snow Report: Early Powder Season

Japan’s Meteorological Agency (JMA) has released its forecast for the 2025-26 winter season, and its prediction shows above-average snowfall and a colder-than-average start to the season.

This means we’ll likely get an early powder season this year, with steady snowfall right through mid-winter.

While the forecasts expect snow conditions to neutralise later in the season, Niseko’s 15m average annual snowfall means visitors are likely to enjoy a snow-filled winter, no matter when they visit.
